Did You Miss Me?

Did you miss me? I have been really busy. Mom has been sick, so I have been working hard as Nurse Pug.

We went to Hood River for some apples. Apples are my favorite! This one is a little overwhelming - it is bigger then my head!

We got apples and pears and squash. I even got to ride in a wagon.

Then we went for a hike. Purty!

Can I have some apple now???

Working on Halloween Costume Posibilities

While Mom and I were looking for my Halloween costumes we stumbled across this link. Pugs taking their proper place as famous people through out history!

I want to be Dracula.
Cousin Alfie will be so jealous!!

New Outfit

Mom and Dad just got back from Asia. I sorta missed them, but had a great time at mom's brother's house. I went swimming for the first time. And they let me sleep in their bed. Hee heee

They brought me and cousin Alfie some styl'in new clothes. This one shows off my big muscles. It is a traditional Thai Hilltribe pattern. Cool. Alfie's is more of a Chinese style. He looked pretty good too!

Bad News!
Found out that mom cheated on me in Thailand. With a tiger. He looks tough, but I could take him. She had to leave the tiger behind, so she is all mine again. I have almost forgiven her. Figure I should work the situation for some extra peanut butter.

Bath Time For Pugs

I had unfortunate run-in with a batch of (non-alcoholic) strawberry daiquiris a few days ago. I was minding my own business, sitting under the deck table, when BAM! A whole batch dropped on my head. I am a nice guy, and gladly offered to help clean up the deck. (MMM, stawberries and sugar!) Unfortunately, I was dyed pink. I thought I looked like one of the hipsters that we always see in our neighborhood. Mom didn't think it was a good color for me.

I had to have a bath.

I spent a long weekend with Grandma and Grandpa, my parents headed to Los Angeles. I got to try out my sea legs and fishing. I am feeling pretty unsure of both...

Pug Poetry

Mom has been teaching poetry at school. She has been using Love that Dog, by Sharon Creech. It is a great book for introducing different styles of poetry to all ages.

Inspired by her students' work and the poem dog, but Valerie Worth.

Pug
By the fireplace
curly tail waggling,
chin between his paws.
Big, brown eyes
Gaze with love
At the snack I am eating.
Gets bored
Snorfs, sighs
Snores
In the flickering
firelight.

I Have Outwitted Them!

I bet you can't find me! Technically, I am not even allowed on the couch. What they don't know won't hurt them.

Tie One On

Sigh.
It has happened again. I was just minding my own business and BOOM! My mom ties me up in whatever she has in her hands, then laughs. And laughs.
My life is full of embarrassments.

I do look dapper though, don't I?

Sunny January Day

We celebrated the three day weekend with lots of hikes and walks around town. It was great to spend so much time all together. We saw all sorts of funny stuff. These guys are clearly competition!Walking in Kelly Point Park.

There were other dogs around... don't they understand that I gotta keep my cool. This does not make me look cool. Moooommmmm, stop squeezing me! Waterfront walking in Vancouver. Lots of birds to yell at. A LOT! Some were bigger then me!

I smiled for this picture.

Showing Off

I have lost 5, count 'em, 5 pounds in the last 7 weeks. It has been hard - my diet now mostly consists of pumpkin puree, steamed sweet potatoes, and snacks of apples, celery, and carrots -but worth it. I look fabulous darling - FAB-U-LOUS. Bring on the bikini!
Just have a look.Keep your eye out for my new line of Perfect Pug Products, guaranteed to slim any pug waist line and increase energy.
(Rumor is I snore less now too!)

More Embarrassing Situations

I had to go back to the vet on Saturday. Apparently, the tube that in my throat during surgery did a little damage to my throat lining and may have introduced some bad bacteria to my belly.

I have finally gotten my bark back (thank goodness I can go back to declaring my love for the mail lady!) but I have been throwing up a lot.
The Vet said that another week of Mom's home cooking and I should be good as new. I hope so. Throwing up is no fun!
As a reward for all the vet trips Mom and Dad took me to the pet store for a new toy! They picked a bone that will help keep my teeth clean. But then they got this great idea to stick me in a dog backpack. It was totally humiliating. Everyone was laughing at me! I swear even the ferrets were giggling at me!
At least they didn't buy it!

Do I Look Guilty?

I feel so much better I may have climbed into the dirty kitchen laundry basket to help clean the towels. Do know how many snacky-bits are left on kitchen towels? It seems a crime to let the washing machine do all the work.

It was great - until I got caught.

Feeling Better

It took a few days of laying low, but I am feeling much better. Chicken soup and Mr. Oy Vey really do heal!

Don't Forget to Brush Your Teeth

Yesterday I had to have 3 teeth pulled and my teeth cleaned. It didn't feel good. I had to spend the day at the vet with a needle in my leg and then I fell asleep. When I woke up everything hurt, I couldn't see straight, and I missed my parents.

I can't really chew anything, so my mom made me some Doggie-Friendly Chicken Soup. It makes me feel better and tastes good. My dad, who is also sick, keeps stealing my soup!
